When the lab coat
is the creative brief.
Three full shoot days. Four statics and five reels produced for D Program's global brand repositioning as Trusted Sensitive Skincare, delivered for creative agency Uncanny across three markets.
The Project
A global skincare rebrand, built in the studio.
D Program, Shiseido's sensitive skincare line, was shifting its global positioning to "Trusted Sensitive Skincare" across three Asian markets. That called for a full suite of new social assets: lifestyle statics, packaging reels, texture close-ups, and hero videos — all carrying a single creative thread of clinical precision and dermatologist credibility.
Uncanny developed the creative direction. GradePixel handled production: three full days, one studio, multiple set builds. Every frame was designed to hold up across Instagram, TikTok, and brand campaigns in Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
The Brief
Science that the camera needs to believe.
The creative direction was specific: no lifestyle props, no decorative objects, no warmth. Everything on set had a reason. Glass beakers, petri dishes, acrylic shelves, graduated cylinders. The lab was the set. The dermatologist was the talent. The product was the hero.
That kind of precision requires careful pre-production. Every prop placement, lighting angle, and background tint was locked across multiple PPM rounds before a single light was switched on. Day One was dedicated to statics. Days Two and Three were entirely for video.
Creative Approach
Three pillars that held the shoot together.
The Statics
Four images. Four product stories.
One studio day covered all four live statics — two lifestyle shelf setups and two dermatology-led product shots. Each image was built to stand alone as a social static or anchor a coordinated campaign grid. Click to view full size.
Behind the Retouching
From raw capture to final delivery.
Move your cursor across any image to see the extent of post-production work: background colour grading, shadow cleanup, product enhancement, and the cool blue-purple tint that ties the entire campaign together as a single visual system.
The Reels
Five videos. Two shoot days.
From product reveal sequences to a live blotter paper experiment — each reel was built from a frame-by-frame storyboard and executed with matching precision on set. Multi-step productions requiring talent, props, and careful timing across six scenes per reel.
Behind the Scenes
On set, across three days.
Lab setups were built, adjusted, and reset between each configuration. Glass props arranged with care, lighting dialled in for each product group, talent briefed for each scene. The consistency across nine final assets started with consistency on set.
Three shoot days, four statics, five reels. The team kept pace with a dense brief and delivered assets that were ready for deployment across three markets without a single reshoot.
