The brief

Food photography that sells
a Singapore festive menu.

Chinese New Year is the busiest, most competitive season for a Singapore caterer. Families order early, they compare menus side by side, and they decide almost entirely on how the food looks. A flat phone photo of a good pen cai loses to a beautiful photo of an average one.

Katong Catering needed their whole festive range โ€” from the yusheng and pen cai to the individual delivery bento boxes โ€” to look as auspicious and abundant as the occasion, across menus, social posts and delivery-platform listings.

Our approach

The food styling
behind every frame.

Festive food is hard to shoot well โ€” lots of dishes, rich sauces, warm tones that can turn muddy. We built two set styles to carry the range: a bright red-and-gold table for the appetising, catalogue-clean shots, and a moody, lantern-lit setup for the premium hero spreads.

Every plate was styled fresh and shot at its best moment โ€” sauces glossy, garnishes sharp, steam and colour intact โ€” with festive props (mandarin oranges, red packets, blossoms) placed to frame the food, never crowd it. The result is a set that reads as one confident, abundant festive story.

For caterers & F&B brands

What great food photography in Singapore
does for a caterer.

If you run a catering business or an F&B brand, this is why professional food photography pays for itself, especially in a peak season.

01

It sells before they taste

Customers order from a photo, not a sample. Appetising, well-lit food photography is the closest thing to letting them taste the dish first.

02

It works everywhere at once

One shoot feeds your menu, your website, your socials and every delivery platform โ€” consistent, on-brand, and built to the right crops.

03

Styling is half the shot

Fresh plating, glossy sauces, the right prop and the right moment. Food styling is what separates a listing that converts from one that doesn't.

04

Peak seasons reward it most

Festive periods are when customers compare menus hardest. Strong imagery is the cheapest way to stand out when it matters most.

Common questions

Food photography in Singapore
โ€” your questions.

It depends on the number of dishes, the amount of styling and the set-ups involved โ€” a single-set delivery menu is very different from a multi-scene festive campaign. The best way to get an accurate figure is to share your dish list and how you'll use the images; message us and we'll put together a quote. You can also see our food photography Singapore service page for scope.

Most menu shoots run from a half day to a full day depending on the number of dishes and set styles. Festive ranges like Katong Catering's take a little longer because each set is dressed and lit separately โ€” we plan a shot order in advance so the kitchen sends dishes out at the right time and nothing sits under the lights.

Yes. Styling is half of what makes food look good โ€” plating, garnishing, prop selection and choosing the exact moment to shoot. For catering menus we handle the commercial styling that makes dishes look fresh, generous and consistent across the whole range.

Absolutely โ€” bento boxes, gift sets and delivery packaging are some of the most important shots for a modern caterer, since that's what customers actually receive. We shoot both the hero feast spreads and the packaged formats so your menu and your delivery listings match. See more food photography work in our portfolio.
